Our Low Carb Plans

If a low carb plan is right for you, we can support you with a healthy plan that emphasizes lean meats, fish and poultry, low-fat and nonfat dairy, and lots of vegetables. After a few weeks, fruits, whole grains, and more flexibility are incorporated in the program. We can help you change your way of eating and really live with this healthy plan. Clients say that they are thrilled with finally seeing results when they hadn't been able to lose weight for years, they find it easy to do, they can eat normal foods even when eating in restaurants, and they find it motivating to see early weight loss. This is a program that sets you on a healthy path that you can sustain for the long run. It does not lead to rapid regain, as is typical with "Atkins-type" plans. Even if people get off track, they find that their weight stays relatively stable, and they do not regain. Weight loss is most dramatic around the waistline, so people notice that their clothes fit better, or that they can wear clothes that were too tight around the waist. How our plan differs from other low carb plans

Many people who find early success on a high fat, low carb plan, will regain weight quickly after they stop their diet. Research suggests that high saturated fat diets tend to make people more sensitive to carbs. Our plan emphasizes lean meats, low-fat or nonfat dairy, and healthy fats, such as that found in olives, avocados, nuts, and fatty fish. This promotes weight loss, without increasing your sensitivity to weight gain from carbs. This results in a much more flexible low carb plan, with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and (mostly) whole grains. And you learn healthy eating that you can sustain for the long run. High-fat low-carb plans establish a way of eating that promotes weight regain. Our plan helps you sustain the weight loss, by developing healthy habits while you are losing weight.

Research- and experience-based

Current research shows that low carb plans help you lose more weight, while preserving muscle. This is important since having more muscle helps keep your metabolism higher so you burn more calories.

A healthy low carb plan can help you with early success that will inspire you to continue eating in a healthy way. The program will help lower your appetite, and teach you to focus on the healthy foods that lower your risk of heart disease and some types of cancer. You will feel satisfied at the end of meals, but not overly stuffed. You will have healthy snacks that keep you from getting hungry between meals. This is a plan you can really live with.

After menopause

One of the very motivating benefits for perimenopausal women is the significant reduction in waist size. You will find that your clothing size will change dramatically. You will be able to wear younger styles that are more body-conscious, rather than needing waist-hiding larger tops.
