Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

from Quick & Healthy Recipes and Ideas,  Brenda J. Ponichtera, R.D.

This old fashioned dessert is good served warm or cold.

bullet4 cups peeled, sliced apples
bullet1/4 cup water
bullet4 tsp. firmly packed brown sugar
bullet2 tsp. cinnamon
bullet1/2 cups oats (quick or old fashioned)
bullet1 Tbl. firmly packed brown sugar
bullet1 Tbl. soft margarine

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine first 5 ingredients and mix well.  Arrange apple mixture in an 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick coating.  Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over apples.  Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned.

Yield:  8 servings

One serving:  1/8 recipe

Calories per serving:  80
